About Us
Moody Teas offers a variety of teas and tea blends, each designed to enhance a desired mood. Whether you are searching for something to invigorate, focus, or calm yourself, we have a blend for you. We use a range of tea bases, from traditional black and green teas to tea alternatives such as Yerba Mate and Guayusa alongside an array of fruits and herbs. Our teas are formulated to effectively enhance any mood you need or to just enjoy!
We are customized and made for the individual, as opposed to the mass market. Our use of natural and organic ingredients, as well as sweetener alternatives, allow for a healthier choice to heavily sweetened drinks.
Compared to the traditional tea companies, we’re no comparison. Our teas are fresh, healthy, and carefully formulated; the high quality and opportunity for customization, along with our accessible prices, differentiate us from the brands offered at your local grocery store.
Against competing and established teas brand, we offer similarly high quality and hand-crafted experience but with the convenience, speed, and lack of pretense that these brands offer. Our teas are for everyone, not just the elite. In our increasingly health-conscious world, thousands of people are constantly looking for a beverage that meets all their needs: something with low to no calories that is flavorful and enjoyable to drink without artificial ingredients. Tea satisfies this requirement, as a delicious, healthy beverage option with endless flavor possibilities. Unfortunately, high-quality loose-leaf tea is often seen as inaccessible due its lack of availability in average stores and steep prices. Additionally, teas as a health supplement are often not accessible to the average consumer for the same reasons. Moody Teas seeks to change this by creating a lifestyle movement around healthy, delicious, and beneficial teas.
Our Culture
Moody Teas is all about inclusivity, accessibility, and creating a work environment that reflects that. We value our employees and are searching for people who truly want to become part of the team. We value empathy, creativity, and passion. Our staff is currently a team of two, our founders John and Nora. We are both devoted to making Moody Teas a fun and friendly place to work. We are eager to train and mentor. Shifts here have an upbeat attitude – we love to play music and chat with each other and our customers.
We work primarily out of two locations – the Hatchery (our kitchen space), and Logan Square Farmer’s market. The role of the barista would involve working with us at the Hatchery to blend our teas and prep for the market, and working in our booth at the farmer’s market. Time in the kitchen is flexible, working with John and/or Nora to schedule. We are at the farmer’s market alternating Sundays, working around 7:30-4:30. If team members are available and interested, we can offer increased hours for admin work; we would also love to consider the right candidate for higher level positions in the company as they become available.
Hourly compensation starts at minimum wage, with additional tips every day we are at the market. As more retail opportunities arise there will be more opportunity for additional hours including tips. Hourly and tips are paid out biweekly. We do not currently offer benefits, but as our company grows this is a high priority. We do offer employee discounts.
Moody Teas is seeking a motivated and dynamic Remote Sales Representative to join our team. This role is perfect for someone who is enthusiastic about sales and has a passion for tea. As a Remote Sales Representative, you will play a crucial role in expanding our market presence by securing new contracts and sending out samples to potential clients.
