HOW’S IT STEEP?

Use 1 teaspoon per 8 oz of water. Heat water to 200–210°F. Steep for 4–5 minutes.

This tea brews to a deep sepia color. The spices hold up beautifully, making it ideal for both straight cups and lattes.

TRADITIONAL CHAI LATTE

For a more traditional Indian-style chai:

In a small saucepan, combine:
1 cup water
1 cup milk of choice
2 teaspoons John’s Big Black Chai

Bring to a gentle simmer over medium heat. Let it simmer for 5–7 minutes, allowing the tea and spices to fully infuse the milk.

Strain into a mug and sweeten if desired.

This method deepens the spice, softens the tannins, and creates a richer, more layered cup

ICED TEA & COLD STEEPING

For iced tea: Steep 2 teaspoons in 8 oz hot water for 4–5 minutes. Pour over ice.

For cold steep: Add ½ ounce of tea (about 4 tablespoons) per 64 ounces of cold water. Refrigerate 8-12 hours.

The galangal and ginger brighten the spice profile, keeping the iced tea bold without feeling heavy.
